The Vibrant Village Foundation, a US-based private foundation that supports local NGOs and community development programs in Ghana and Kenya, has restored a borehole that provides clean drinking water to pupils of Chegli Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High School (JHS) in the Wa municipality of the Upper West Region.
This intervention comes after the borehole had been broken for months, making access to clean water a significant challenge for the students.

The borehole restoration was initiated following an appeal made by the assembly member for the Kperisi Electoral Area, Hon. A Walid Jnr.
The assembly member took to social media to express his gratitude, stating, “Our utmost gratitude to Vibrant Village Foundation – Ghana, Wa ~ UWR for responding to our appeal and fixing the only borehole that serves both Chegli KG, Primary, and JHS. Water is life! Thanks so much, and like Oliver Twist, we look forward to working more closely with you in solving and providing our people with basic essential needs for growth and development.”
The borehole’s restoration has brought much-needed relief to the students and staff, ensuring that they now have access to clean water daily. Hon. A Walid Jnr emphasized the significance of the project, highlighting the crucial role that clean water plays in the health and education of the pupils.
