Residents of Tagrayiri, a community in the Wa Municipality, are gripped by fear amidst concerns of a possible cholera outbreak following the removal of the only refuse bin serving the area by Zoomlion Ghana.

According to the Assemblyman of the area, Hon. Abdulai Jamal, all efforts to determine the reasons behind the removal of the refuse bin have proven futile. He stated that both the driver and supervisor of Zoomlion Ghana claimed that the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Isahaku Tahiru, instructed them to relocate the container from the area.

Despite attempts to reach the Municipal Chief Executive for clarification on the allegations, no response has been received thus far.

The residents, predominantly women, have voiced their complaints about the situation, expressing frustration when they attempt to dispose of refuse only to find the refuse bin missing.

The sudden removal of the refuse bin has left the community vulnerable to improper waste disposal practices, raising concerns about the potential health risks, particularly the outbreak of cholera.
