The two upper west region’s representatives in the Access Bank division one league for the 2024/2025 football season Sore Nante and Power Sporting Club are set to play their upcoming home matches at the Naa Sheriga Astro Turf in Nalerigu.

This decision follows the disapproval of the Wa Park by the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) club licensing board, sparking concern and frustration among the teams and their supporters.

For many clubs in Ghana, the advantage of playing on home turf is crucial for securing victories.

The financial burden of relocating home games to Nalerigu, a considerable distance from Wa, is also a major concern for these young teams. The move significantly increases logistical costs, from transportation to accommodation, putting additional strain on already stretched resources.

Fans of both Sore Nante and Power Sporting Club have expressed their dissatisfaction, especially after pictures of the Ho Stadium, which was approved by the GFA, surfaced online. Many believe that the Wa Sports Stadium is in better condition than the Ho venue, further fueling frustrations.
