The chiefs and people of Tabiehi, a farming community in the Wa Municipal, have come together to organize their first homecoming celebration. Held on the 8th and 9th of July 2023, this event marks the beginning of an annual celebration aimed at fostering unity and celebrating the community’s rich heritage.

During the homecoming event, Tabiehi Naa Nuhu Mahama, the Chief of Tabiehi, seized the opportunity to appeal to the government for much-needed development projects in the community. His appeals focused on key infrastructure improvements and support for the agricultural sector.

One of the primary requests made by Tabiehi Naa Nuhu Mahama was the construction of the Wa-Jonga-Tabiehi road. The road’s construction would provide better connectivity and enhance transportation for the community, facilitating the movement of people and goods.

Additionally, the Chief appealed for the rehabilitation of the Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound in Tabiehi. This request highlights the community’s need for improved healthcare facilities to ensure the well-being of its residents.

Furthermore, Tabiehi Naa Nuhu Mahama called for the construction of bridges to link the neighboring communities of Kpankolee, Mojorn, and Piihi. These bridges would play a vital role in facilitating the transportation of agricultural produce, supporting the growth of the farming sector in the area.

The Chief emphasized that Kpankolee, Mojorn, and Piihi communities currently face challenges as they are not connected to the National grid. Access to electricity is crucial for various aspects of development, including education, healthcare, and economic activities. Therefore, the community appeals for efforts to extend the electricity grid to these three communities.

The appeals made by the Chief of Tabiehi reflect the aspirations of the community for progress and improved living conditions. The development projects requested would not only enhance infrastructure but also contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the area.
