The Wa Municipal Assembly, in partnership with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has launched an initiative to identify the causes of flooding in several communities within the municipality. Recent visits to Kumbiehi and Konta/Napogbakole have shed light on some of the factors contributing to severe flooding in these areas.

Residents of Konta/Napogbakole community attribute the flooding to the poor siting of a filling station along a waterway. They claim that the proximity of the fuel station diverts water flow towards their homes, exacerbating the flood situation.

The affected residents have urged the municipal assembly to compel the owner of the filling station, Broni Petrosol, to construct an effective drainage system that can contain rainwater passing through the waterways.
