The Wa High Court Presided Over by His Lordship Justice Assibey Yussif has sentenced Alhaji Inusah Abdul Rahman to 91 Years in Prison(23 Years Concurrently) with Hard Labor on 5 Criminal Counts.
Seven Juries constituting four men and three women affirmed unanimously that Alhaji Inusah Abdul Rahman Used an Offensive Weapon on three counts to cause harm and also on two counts to commit manslaughter.
Mr. Inusah Abdul Rahman, 61 Year Old, on 17th March 2022, Shot Two people, A former Lecturer of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University, Late Stephen Mane and Administrator of Simon Diedong Dombo University, Iddrisu Alhassan to death on the Wa Bamahu Highway in an Attempt to Scare away some Irate Youth Threatening him over a Land Related dispute.
The High Court Judge Delivered the Following Sentence:
Count One – Manslaughter – 23 Years
Count Two – Manslaughter – 23 Years
Count Three – Use of Offensive Weapon – 15 Years
Count Four – Use of Offensive Weapon – 15 Years
Count Five – Use of Offensive Weapon – 15 Years
This summed up to a Total of 91 Years. However the Judge indicated that the years will run Concurrently, meaning all years shall be served at the same time, this implies that Alhaji Inusah Abdul Rahman will serve 23 Years because it’s the Highest among all 5 Sentences.
He will also pay each affected victim and amount of Ghc40,000, this means all 5 parties shall be compensated making a total of Ghc200,000.
The Court Gave a grace period of One Month to Compensate the victims without Prejudice Else the families of of victims can take further legal actions.
