Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, the Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency, continues to make strides in women’s development with his latest initiative, arriving in the Kperisi Electoral Area. On 28th September 2024, women from Sagu, Kperisi, and Chegli benefited from a skills training project, designed to empower them financially and build their capacities for self-reliance.

This impactful project, led by Dr. Pelpuo, saw the women trained in the production of five different products, including shower gel, after wash, parazone, ointment, and more. The initiative is grounded in the philosophy of “teaching them how to fish”, ensuring that these women gain valuable skills that will allow them to create sustainable livelihoods and never go hungry.

A representative speaking on behalf of the women expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Pelpuo for the opportunity, emphasizing the long-term benefits of the training. The skills acquired will enable many participants to venture into full-time businesses, contributing to the economic growth of their communities.

This training is one of the many steps taken by Dr. Pelpuo and his team, with special attention to women’s development. His continuous support aims to uplift women as a critical strategy for national development, with the belief that “Lift a woman! Lift a nation!”.

Dr. Pelpuo remains a steadfast advocate for community empowerment and development. The Kperisi, Sagu, and Chegli women look forward to more opportunities like this to enhance their economic independence and overall well-being.
