Youth in Wa were over the weekends empowered through a mentorship program organized by the Ghana Think Foundation (GTF). The program held at Sem-B Lodge, titled “Culture, Finance and Quality,” provided a platform for young people to connect with experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds.

GTF Director Ato Ulzen-Appiah highlighted the program’s focus on building the capacity of young people. By interacting with mentors, participants gained valuable knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their future endeavors.

Mr. Ulzen-Appiah also elaborated on GTF’s BarCamp initiative. This program offers free networking forums for Ghanaian youth across 10 regional capitals, including Kasoa and Tema. The Wa program marked the sixth edition of BarCamp Wa, solidifying GTF’s commitment to cultivating a network of young Ghanaians.

BarCamp Upper West Region Team Lead, Mr. Jeremiah Afako, underscored the program’s goal of fostering initiative and self-reliance among young people. GTF aspires to empower a generation of young Ghanaians who can think creatively and solve problems independently, moving beyond the notion of solely relying on government job creation.

Program participant Farida Amankwah expressed her gratitude for the experience and urged the organizers to continue providing such enriching opportunities for Wa’s youth
