In the wake of the murders of two watchmen on Monday night in Wa, Upper West Region, residents are demanding updates on the whereabouts of Mr. Adongo Kankani, a prime suspect previously reported to be involved in a series of killings in the Wa municipality .
The tragic deaths of Mr. Kojo, a security guard at the Wa East GES office annex, and another watchman from Wa Model JHS have created fear and panic among the residents. This latest incident has reignited concerns about security and the effectiveness of local law enforcement.
Residents recall that in September 2022, Wa was shaken by a series of brutal killings targeting security men and mentally ill persons. Following extensive investigations, police arrested Adongo Kankani as the prime suspect in these cases. He was apprehended in Bamahu, but since then, there has been no public update on his status or whereabouts.
The community’s anxiety has grown due to the lack of information, especially given the recent murders. Many are questioning whether Kankani could be linked to the new incidents or if other perpetrators are at large.
