A tragic incident occurred in Wa around midday when 16-year-old Abdul Majeed Raef Jimba, a student at Star Standard School, drowned in the Wadiah Dam along the Kaleo Road.
Raef Jimba hails from Jengbeyiri, a suburb of the Wa Metropolis.
Eyewitnesses report that the incident took place when Raef and some friends went swimming in the dam to cool off during the high temperatures experienced in Wa this Ramadan season.
