The office of the President through Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the president spokesman has officially confirmed the appointment of Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, the Member of Parliament for Wa Central, as Minister of Labour, jobs and employment designate.
This announcement clear the air on early Friday morning circulating reports which peck the the Wa central lawmaker as Minister of interior designate.
In the said letter, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo was named interior minister designate, Zenator Agyemang Rawlings as Health Minister, Edward Kofi Omane Boamah as Defence Minister, among others. The letter created confusion and sparked debate across various media platforms which the spokesperson for the president later issued a disclaimer on the authenticity of letter, saying that is not from the presidency hence fake

However, in an official statement issued by Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the President’s Spokesperson, has been confirmed that Dr. Rashid Pelpuo’s appointment as Minister of Labour, jobs and employment designate.


As part of the process, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo is expected to appear before the Appointments Committee of Parliament for vetting and approval. The six times MP have swerved in various capacities in previous NDC government including youth and sports minister, ranking member in parliamentary committees and more.
