Dr. Titus Beyuo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), has resigned from his position in order to play politics with fresh gloves.

The doctor selected nomination forms on February 22 to run in the Upper West Region’s Lambussie-Karni Constituency’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries.

He claimed that after much reflection and lengthy discussion with family, friends, and important stakeholders, the decision to come to this was made.

The support and encouragement I received from my family, the traditional leaders in the Lambussie Traditional Council, the party leadership at the national, regional, constituency, and branch levels, and friends during the consultative process, made this less difficult, he said on Wednesday. “Arriving at this decision was an uphill task,” he said.

As a result, he has pledged to usurp the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) position of power and “contribute to the next NDC government’s developmental plan for the people of Ghana and Lambussie”

“I am totally convinced that the NDC’s social democratic administration holds the answer to alleviating extreme poverty, providing healthcare for everyone, restoring the economy, and above all, ensuring fairness and equity in the sharing of the national cake,” the author said.

Dr. Beyuo offered his condolences to anyone who may have been disappointed by his choice to leave the GMA, especially at this time, and asked for their support in his future endeavors.
