In a show of unity and determination, students of DHLTU took to the streets on Monday,10 to stage a peaceful demonstration. Their primary demand was the allocation of land for the construction of hostel facilities to accommodate the growing needs of the Students. Despite previous unsuccessful attempts, the students were determined to make their voices heard.

As the university is not having hostel facilities, The SRC wanted a portion of the school land to build their own hostels. Previous administrations have made numerous attempts to secure the land from the management, but all efforts have been in vain. This lack of progress prompted the students to organize the peaceful demonstration as a means of expressing their frustration and urgency.

The need for hostel facilities at DHLTU is paramount, as the student population continues to grow. The provision of accommodation plays a crucial role in ensuring a conducive learning environment and enhancing the overall student experience.

By having their own dedicated hostel facilities, the SRC aims to provide students with a safe and comfortable living space within the campus.

During the peaceful demonstration, students marched through the campus, carrying placards and voicing their demands for land allocation. They emphasized the importance of having hostel facilities and expressed their disappointment in administration’s inability to give the land.

Management of the university calmed the aggrived students down through the SRC president. The SRC and the all students body was taken to a portion of land on the school plot just beside the school mosque and the land was demacated and labelled as SRC land.

The aggrived students accepts the land and  left the demonstration grounds to their various homes.

The peaceful demonstration serves as a powerful reminder of the students’ determination to improve their university experience. By working together, students and the university administration can foster an environment that prioritizes the well-being and comfort of all students.
