After years of dedicated service, Haruna Abdul-Aziz Sungumo has made the difficult decision to step down from his role as Secretary of Muziga organization in the Upper West Region. Sungumo’s resignation brings an end to an era, bidding farewell to a highly respected figure who has played an instrumental role in the organization’s success and growth.
Sungumo’s journey with Muziga began in 2014 as an events organizer, gradually taking on more responsibilities. From becoming the personal Secretary to the Chairman in 2015 to serving as the Acting Regional Chairman, Sungumo’s tenure as Secretary, which started in mid-2018 until 2021, was marked by a remarkable level of commitment, passion, and exemplary leadership.
During his time as Secretary, Sungumo tirelessly worked towards Muziga’s vision of promoting and preserving the rich musical heritage of the region. He spearheaded numerous initiatives, including music festivals, conferences, and workshops, providing aspiring musicians with platforms to showcase their talent and learn from industry veterans.

Sungumo’s advocacy for the protection and recognition of traditional music stands as one of his notable accomplishments.
