UW/R : Fenbo Foundation Dontes Sanitary Pads, Provides Menstrual Education to Challu JHS students

Fenbo Foundation, a non-profit organization in the Upper West Region, made a significant contribution in the lives of students in Challu JHS A and B, as well as primary six pupils in the Sissala East district.

Over 120 students benefited from the donation of sanitary pads and menstrual health education.

Objectives of the Initiative:

  • Provide sanitary pads to students in need
  • Educate students on menstrual health and hygiene

This initiative aimed to support the well-being of students in the Sissala East district kicked start with Challu JHS students by addressing a critical aspect of their health and hygiene in the phase 1 of the project.

The provision of sanitary pads ensures that students can manage their menstrual cycles with dignity and without interruption to their education.

Moreover, the menstrual health education component equips students with essential knowledge on how to maintain proper hygiene during their menstrual periods.

The donation and educational session by anchored by the CEO of the organization, Madam Rihana Salifu, a midwive and a health tutor with her team represent a positive step towards improving the health and educational outcomes of students in the Sissala East district .

Such initiatives highlight the importance of addressing menstrual health in schools and ensuring that all students have the resources and information they need to thrive in such circumstances.
