Mr. Sualah explained that during their journey, the bus he was traveling in stopped at the immigration checkpoint for routine checks. Seizing the opportunity to relieve himself, Mr. Sualah attempted to urinate by the roadside.

However, he was stopped by some immigration officers stationed at the Naro checkpoint who insisted he crossed the road to the other side. Mr. Sualah refused, expressing concerns about the potential risk of an accident.

In a distressing turn of events, Mr. Sualah claimed that the officers resorted to threatening him with a gun, warning that they would shoot him if he did not comply with their order.

This alleged abuse of power by the immigration officials has raised serious concerns about the safety and respect for the rights of individuals, particularly journalists, who play a vital role in upholding freedom of the press.
