In a story of determination and perseverance, Juventus Duorinaah has made history as Ghana’s first deaf lawyer. Hailing from the Upper West Region, Juventus has overcome significant challenges to achieve this remarkable feat, demonstrating that disability is no barrier to success.
Born in a region facing economic hardship, Juventus began his educational journey at the Wa School for the Deaf, later attending the Senior High Technical School for the Deaf, which he completed in 2007. His relentless pursuit of knowledge led him to achieve academic excellence at various institutions:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Ghana (First ClassHonors)
- LLB from the University of Ghana (Second-Class Lower Honors)
- Master’s Degree in Law, specializing in Human Rights Law from the School of Law and Politics, Cardiff University
After six years of hard work and perseverance, Juventus passed the entrance exams to the Ghana School of Law and has now been called to the bar, becoming the first deaf lawyer in Ghana.
His achievement marks a significant milestone for the deaf community, empowering him to advocate for their rights with a comprehensive legal understanding.
