During a press conference in Wa, the group’s convener, Madam Rehanatu Salifu, praised former President John Dramani Mahama for selecting Prof. Opoku-Agyemang for the second time as his running mate. They emphasized the nomination as a clear signal of inclusivity, diversity, and forward-thinking in Ghana’s political landscape.
Madam Rehanatu lauded Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s exceptional qualities, citing her integrity, leadership, and commitment to public service. She expressed confidence in Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s ability to lead alongside Mr. Mahama and emphasized her potential to drive policy interventions for national development.
Highlighting Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s achievements as Minister of Education, Madam Rehanatu underscored her role in advancing the education sector. She emphasized key initiatives such as the conversion of colleges of education into tertiary institutions, the introduction of free senior high school for vulnerable students, and the establishment of community day senior high schools.
