In a bid to ensure a transparent and seamless vetting process for aspiring Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCES), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region has officially released a comprehensive guide for the conduct of aspirants during the vetting.
The guide, which was signed by Regional Secretary Charles Lwanga Puozuing Esq, outlines the rules of engagement and procedural steps for the vetting, ensuring that all events leading up to the MMDCES vetting are conducted in a transparent and orderly manner.
The vetting process is set to be carried at Residency along the Wa-Sombo rd, with a total of 168 individuals submitting their applications in aspirations for the coveted MMDCES positions across 11 constituencies of the region.
The constituencies in the region have seen varied numbers of applicants, with the Wa West District having the highest number of 21 applicants, while Wa Central, Sissala East, and Lambussie have the least number of applicants, each with 11 candidates.
The main goal of the vetting is to ensure that the most qualified, experienced, and capable individuals are selected to serve as MMDCES in the region, aligning with the NDC’s commitment to good governance and effective leadership.
This process will allow for a thorough evaluation of the aspirants’ qualifications, leadership qualities, and ability to contribute to the development of their respective districts. The guide also emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability throughout the vetting process.
