Former President John Dramani Mahama paid a surprise visit to Zakaria Abdul Samad, the groom who made headlines after briefly leaving his wedding to join Mahama’s convoy during his campaign tour in the Upper West Region.
The meeting, orchestrated by Lawyer Beatrice Annan, took place shortly after Samad’s wedding, where Mahama personally congratulated the newlyweds. Samad’s spontaneous decision to leave his wedding celebration to show his loyalty to Mahama and the NDC garnered widespread attention across Ghana.
