The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA) continues to offer financial support to members in critical health need.
The Upper West Regional Executives in collaboration with the Wa Municipal Executives on the 29th of October, 2024, presented Cheque worth FOURTY-FIVE THOUSAND GHANA CEDIS (GHC45,000) to a member of the association in health need at the Municipality of Wa.
The cheque was presented at Wa Municipal Hospital’s conference hall by the GRNMA municipal chairman Mr. Joseph Borgkur N., the Wa Municipal Hospital Administrator, Mr.Samson Abu and DDNS, Mama Alima Ali on behalf of the President Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo.
The Wa Municipal Hospital’s Administrator, Mr.Samson Abu extended his gratitude to the association for always supporting timely her members in need, he has witnessed at least three (3) members of the association who received huge sums of money for health support within Wa municipal hospital and he called on all nurses and midwives to join the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association for better welfare.
The beneficiary MR. ALBERT DURNYE DANIKUU, received a cheque of FOURTY-FIVE THOUSAND GHANA CEDIS (GHC 45,000.00).MR.ALBERT DURNYE DANIKUU works at the Wa Municipal Hospital, Female Ward.
In the Wa municipal Hospital, the presentation was made in the presence of the Municipal Chairman, Mr. Joseph Borgkur N., Wa municipal secretary, Mr. Sharif Yahuza as well as other members of the Union.
Mr.Joseph Borgkur N., the Municipal Chairman (GRNMA) used the opportunity to remind the representatives of the employer of their responsibility in times of ill health of the employee as contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement signed between the association and the employer.
He stressed the need to screen all nurses and midwives at least once, in a year and to pay Hundred percent (100% ) of treatments for conditions outside the remit of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) since the health of staff was paramount and a common interest.
The beneficiary extends his gratitude to Madam President, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori Ampofo, the Upper West Regional Executives, and the Wa Municipal executives for the financial support, emphasizing the big relief the support has come to give him to seek health treatment.
He called on all nurses and midwives to unite behind the leadership of the association at all levels in line with the group’s motto ‘Unity is Strength!”
