The Upper West Region has lost a promising political figure and dedicated academic. Adam Sorekuong Yakubu, a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Wa East Constituency, has passed away on November 8, 2024.
Mr. Yakubu, a lecturer by profession, hailed from Jeyiri in the Wa East District. He was a strong contender in the 2020 NPP Parliamentary Primaries, where he faced stiff competition from other aspirants.
Even though the cause of his death is still unknown,news of his untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the region, with many expressing their condolences and paying tribute to the late politician. Social media has been flooded with heartfelt messages from party faithfuls and other well-wishers.
