Parliament of Ghana has restructured its committees, appointing Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw as the new Chairperson of food,agriculture and cocoa affairs Committee. Dr. Jasaw, who previously served as a member of the committee during the 8th Parliament, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this crucial role.
As the new chair, Dr. Jasaw will oversee matters related to food security, agriculture, and cocoa affairs, with the committee’s responsibilities extending to investigating and reviewing the activities and administration of relevant ministries, departments, and agencies. The committee will also examine legislative proposals that fall within its mandate.
Known for his advocacy in food and agribusiness, Dr. Jasaw is expected to provide rigorous scrutiny on policies and initiatives in the sector, especially in efforts aimed at enhancing food security and creating sustainable jobs for Ghanaians.
The committee’s leadership also includes Kwame Dzudzorli Garkey as Vice Chair, Isaac Yaw Opoku as Ranking Member, and Seth Osei-Akotto as Deputy Ranking Member.
