In a heartwarming gesture of sportsmanship and unity, Deputy Sanitation Minister Hon. Issahaku Chinnia has extended his congratulations to his grandfather and political rival, Hon. Mohammed Issah Bataglia, on winning the Sissala East parliamentary seat.
Provisional results from the December 2024 elections indicate that Hon. Bataglia, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeated Hon. Chinnia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a closely contested race.
The outcome marks a significant shift in Sissala East, a swing constituency with a history of alternating between the NPP, NDC, and the People’s National Convention (PNC).
