Martin Waana-Ang Esq , a 24 year old boy from Jirapa Wuoyiri in the Upper west region and former student of St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has been named the best student at the prestigious 2024 Call to the Bar ceremony.

Martin received the Mensah Sarbah Award for his overall excellence and was also awarded Best Student in Civil Procedure, consistently demonstrated academic brilliance and leadership throughout his legal education.

At KNUST, he served as the Law Students Union (LSU) President and distinguished himself by participating in multiple moot court competitions, including the 30th African Human Rights Moot Court Competition and the 2022 Baffour Osei Akoto Moot Court Competition, where he was named Best Oralist in the preliminary rounds.

Martin’s hard work and dedication have paid off, making him one of the most celebrated law students in Ghana. His legal interests span Constitutional Law, Oil and Gas Law, Maritime Law, Tax Law, and International Law, with aspirations of one day serving on Ghana’s Supreme Court.

The recognition of Martin Waana-Ang’s achievements reflects not only his personal dedication but also the growing prominence of students from the Upper West Region on the national stage.

At this younger age, Martin have done 8 publications already, one could only imagine what a stellar career waits this young lawyer.
