The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) in the Upper East Region has made significant strides in addressing issues related to fuel smuggling and illegal fueling stations through its strong collaboration with security agencies.

In the past, activities such as fuel smuggling and the establishment of illegal fueling stations posed significant challenges to the NPA’s operations in the region. However, due to the successful partnership with security agencies, such activities are now a thing of the past.

Mr. Alhaji Bashiru Nutogma, the NPA’s Upper East Regional Managing Director, emphasized the effectiveness of their monitoring teams in areas previously known for fuel smuggling and illegal fueling activities. This collaborative effort has resulted in improved control and regulation of the fuel sector in the region.

During a media engagement held in Bolgatanga on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, the NPA discussed its efforts to enhance the efficient supply and production of fuel in the country. With their improved collaboration with security agencies, the NPA aims to ensure a smooth and legal operation of the fuel sector in the region and across the nation.
