The University for Development Studies (UDS) is excited to announce the opening of applications for its Access Programme for the 2025/2026 academic year in the following healthcare disciplines:

  • BSc Nursing
  • BSc Midwifery
  • BSc Public Health Nursing

This is an excellent opportunity for Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC), Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP), and Community Health Nurse (CHN) certificate holders to further their education and advance their careers in healthcare.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery at UDS will offer the Access Programme to provide an entry point into these undergraduate degree courses. Successful candidates will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as healthcare professionals in nursing and midwifery.

Level of Entry:

Applicants should note the following level of entry based on their certificate:

BSc Nursing: Available to NAC holders only, with entry into Level 200.

BSc Midwifery: Available to NAC and NAP holders, with entry into Level 100.

BSc Public Health Nursing: Available to NAC, NAP, and CHN holders. NAP/CHN holders will be admitted into Level 200, while NAC holders will be admitted into Level 100.

Entry Requirements:

To be eligible for the Access Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a holder of Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC), Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP), or Community Health Nurse (CHN) certification.

  • Be licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with a valid AIN.
  • Have at least 3 years of work experience.
  • Obtain study leave from your current employer.
