The legendary artist was shot four times on Sept. 7, 1996, and he “died” in the hospital six days later. Tupac was riding shotgun in a car driven by then-Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight when a car pulled next to them at a stop light and fired many shots into Tupac’s vehicle. Moments before the incident, a fan captured a picture of him and Knight in the car, which is known as the final photo ever taken of Tupac. The date is also in the picture, but it is dated Sept. 8, 1996, and Tupac was shot and admitted to the hospital on Sept. 7.

Also , the official coroner report for his death listed him at 215 pounds, 50 pounds heavier than what he actually was. Tupac was typically listed at 165 pounds, which for a 5-foot-9-inch male who was in good shape was much more reasonable than 215 pounds.there is lots of controversy surrounding his autopsy, which is not available to anyone. No one has been able to find the man who cremated the rapper, and in an interview , Knight claimed he paid a man $3 million in cash to cremate Tupac, and the man proceeded to disappear.

Knight also claimed that nobody has ever seen Tupac dead and went as far as to say Tupac is not dead. One of the latest theories suggests Tupac switched with a double and was flown out of Las Vegas by helicopter after learning someone was planning to assassinate him. Filmmaker Rick Boss, the director of the documentary 2Pac: The Great Escape from UMC, claims Tupac is hiding out in New Mexico. “Let’s just say Mr. Shakur — the family is aware of the movie, and they’re okay with the title, so that should tell you more or less what’s going on,”

Conspiracy theorists have rationalized it by pointing to Shakur’s respect for Niccolò Machiavelli, whose treatise The Art of War has been misconstrued as advocating for faking one’s death in order to manipulate an enemy. Machiavelli actually wrote : Sometimes it has been of
great moment while the fight is going on
to disseminate words that pronounce the enemies’ captain to be dead, or to have been conquered by one part of d army. Many times this has given victory to him who used it. But believing that Machiavelli espoused faking one’s death, fans reasoned that Shakur’s   adoption of d stage name, Makaveli, & the inclusion of the phrase “Exit 2Pac, Enter Makaveli” in the album sleeve for The Don Killuminati:
Tupac’s 2003’s posthumous double album. Better Dayz features an outro where Tupac repeats the words “Expect me nigga like you expect Jesus to come back / I’m coming” over & over.
Tupac’s political revolutionary aunt, Assata Shakur, has been hiding from the FBI in Cuba since 1979 In 2017,

Knight who is currently in prison was still peddling this theory, suggesting to Ice-T in a TV interview: “With Pac, you never know.” His son, Jacob, has even claimed Pac is living in Malaysia and working on a new album. There have been many theories on who killed Tupac. Many people believe it was Knight who killed Him, others believe it was Biggie & still others believe it was the government. Hence the existence of these theories. One of Tupac’s most famous quotes had him boldly stating: “My only fear of death is reincarnation,”
