Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the goal of this effort is to give pupils the skills they need to succeed in the global community. He emphasized the importance of putting money into education as a way to move the nation ahead and develop future leaders.
Dr. Bawumia said in his speech on Saturday that “the Minister for Education has also given me the assurance that this year we will commence the replacement of textbooks with laptops that contain embedded textbooks in Senior High Schools.”
This new initiative was started when the government’s One-Teacher, One-Laptop programme was introduced on September 3, 2021. The project aims to give SHS teachers cutting-edge tools to improve teaching and learning.
The Ghana Education Service said on December 11, 2021, that 80% of the laptops intended for teachers had already been given. Before the end of 2023, it’s projected that laptops will completely replace textbooks in classrooms.
