Aboabo, a neighborhood in Tamale, witnessed a shocking incident as a group of young individuals attacked a judge who was presiding over a case involving alleged drug selling.
The situation escalated further when the aggrieved youth assaulted police officers and stole a police officer’s weapon, prompting the firing of warning shots in an attempt to restore order.
According to reports from rainbow fm correspondent Prince Kwame Tamakloe, who shared insights on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, the youth even resorted to burning automobile tires during the incident.
The episode unfolded after traditional leaders took steps to combat the illicit drug trade in the area. In response to concerns over drug misuse among young people, a task force was formed to address the issue.
The incident occurred following the denial of bail to the suspect, Alhaji Osman, allegedly involved in drug selling. The enraged youth reacted strongly, causing chaos and reportedly firing rounds at the courthouse.
The authorities responded promptly, apprehending the suspect, who is now in custody.
