Former Ghana star Kwadwo Asamoah retires from football at age 33

The ex-Juventus and Inter Milan star has officially brings the curtain down on an illustrious career spanning more than 15 years.

Former Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah has announced his retirement from professional football at age 33.

Asamoah has opted to hang up his boots from active football and commence sports management role as a football agent.

 

The Kumasi-born midfielder, who had an incredible career in Italy with Juventus, holds the record for most appearances by an African player in Italian Serie A history (279 games).
He won thirteen (13) trophies during his six-year stay at Italian Serie A giants Juventus before moving to their arch-rivals Inter Milan in 2018 on a free transfer.
Asamoah made four Africa Cup of Nations appearances for Ghana — 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2019 — and managed to score two goals for the Black Stars.
He also appeared for Ghana at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and holds eight appearances with an assist at the global showpiece.
Asamoah capped 71 times for the senior national team of Ghana with four goals to his credit.
