Shatta Wale Fined ¢2,000 After Pleading Guilty To Publication Of False News

The popular Dancehall act was earlier given his punishment today June 29 by an Accra Circuit Court presided by Emmanuel Essandoh for falsely claiming he was dead in October last year.

 

The reports were further confirmed by his personal assistant (PA), Nana Dope, and other of his accomplices who said he was receiving treatment at an anonymous hospital after he had managed to escape the attackers.

After receiving the information that the police were looking for him, Shatta Wale turned himself in for the police after rendering an apology to his fans for feigning his shooting incident.

He was made to face charges of publishing false news and causing public fear and panic but pleaded not guilty.

However, on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, the musician changed his plea from ‘not being guilty ‘ to the publication of false news to ‘being guilty ‘.

He was charged by the Accra Circuit Court to pay Gh¢2,000 and he will serve a three-month term in prison if he fails to meet the court’s demand of the Gh¢2,000.
