For the job of Project Manager, the Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research (CBCR) is seeking applications from qualified and eligible individuals in collaboration with the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary (WCHS) and the Wilder Institute of the Calgary Zoo Foundation.

To ensure the long-term success of community conservation in the sanctuary, our partnership aims to support capacity building, development, and conservation initiatives in the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary and surrounding villages.

Job Summary

The position’s main duties will be to manage the project, give technical and strategic guidance, and to essentially plan, create, implement, and oversee project operations.

Job Location

Offices of the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary and the Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research are both located in Accra, Ghana (80%) and Wechiau, Upper West Region, respectively.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree or higher in biology, environmental management, conservation, or another field that is related,
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience, three of which must be in management,
  • Experience in project management that has been proven, Success in developing project proposals that have been proven,
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities,
  • Superior communication abilities (oral and written English),
    the capacity and desire to commute locally every day,
    a capable team member
