In fulfillment of a key campaign promise made during the 2024 elections, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has officially launched the ambitious “One Million Coders” programme. This nationwide initiative aims to equip one million Ghanaians with crucial digital skills, paving the way for a digitally empowered nation.

The programme is a central pillar of President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to position Ghana as a competitive force in the global Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) sectors. During his 2024 campaign, President Mahama emphasized the programme’s inclusive nature, stating, “We are committed to ensuring no one is left behind in the digital revolution.”

To bring this vision to life, the government has allocated a significant investment of GHC 100 million towards the implementation of the One Million Coders programme.
