In a shocking turn of events, Ibrahim Baba Bukari, the Bono East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is currently in critical condition following a motorcycle accident.
The incident took place in Assin Bereku, within the Assin North District of the Central region. Mr Bukari was actively engaged in a door-to-door campaign, seeking support for the NPP’s Charles Opoku ahead of an upcoming bye-election scheduled for June 27, 2023. During his campaign activities, Mr Bukari’s motorcycle was involved in a collision with a speeding vehicle, resulting in severe injuries. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, and emergency services promptly rushed him to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was subsequently airlifted to Accra for further treatment. The party secretary, Mr Asamoah, confirmed the incident and provided updates on Mr Bukari’s condition.
