No Artist In Upper East Comes Close To Me In Terms Of Numbers – Showbowy Alleges
Occasionally, referred to as the Shatta Wale of the Upper East Music industry, Showbowy, ascertained the fact that he has always been on the neck of industry players and stakeholders who will ensure the proper management of affairs to help push the industry forward with the organizers of the HMB-UEMA being his biggest target.
Speaking to Sammy Flex on Sammy Flex TV, Showbowy, highlighted problems in the industry per his opinion, indicating that, because he is loud and has always gone hard on industry players, they have decided to always sideline him in bigger events that will have needed his support. He revealed that anytime people from else come to the Upper East to market their brands to the people through the industry, those same industry players always end up sacking them because they go to bring people without numbers and talent which will demotivate the people hence chasing them away. “We have lost many brands here just because when they come they won’t give them the right people that will pull them crowd and entertain them…..”, he stressed.
He further stated that he is the very first person who made people fall in love with secular music in the region. This he does because when he is coming out, just like Shatta Wale, he has all the big guys behind him and he always moves in a large convoy that attracts the attention of people to what they do. He said he takes a lot of inspiration from Shatta Wale and that has been helpful to his brand in the Upper East. For instance, when he organized a show, he always pulls crowds and he has large numbers streaming his music on digital platforms.
Sharing on the stuff he does on Facebook that creates enmity between him and industry players, Showbowy, noted that, the HMB-UEMA organizers have always been on his books, and he is the one who put them back on their toes when they are not up to task. He shared that whatever wrong he encounter there, he always want to talked on it until it is corrected. He alerted the criteria the organizers use in choosing winners in the awards scheme is wrong, because the only criteria there is based on voting, with less emphasis on what the artist has done in the year under review. ” An artist can just release only one song the whole year, which may not even be a hit and another artist will spent like 30k on an album but the one with one song will take an award simple because he spent 7k in voting while the one with the album spent 5k in the voting. It is not fair”, he bemoaned.
He has revealed that he got an album underway which is almost ready with features from stars like Fancy Gadam, Fad Lan, Don Sigli, Is Rahim, Rashid Mental among others on the album.
Stressing on numbers, Showbowy, told Sammy Flex that he isn’t boastful but there is no artist in the entire region and northern region in general that can come to the Upper East and pull numbers more than him. Though the Upper East lacks bigger venues, he noted the highest he recorded was over 2k. He said he has a strong relationship with Fancy Gadam and that has seen him bring him to the Upper East not less than twice. “That artist that can come to the Upper East and pull numbers more than me has not been born yet, not even Fancy Gadam or Macassio”, he declared.
