On Thursday afternoon, John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 flagbearer, alongside his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Agyemang, arrived in the Upper West Regional capital, Wa, to participate in a significant fundraising dinner held at the Dellagio Hotel.

The event brought together top-tier members and executives of the NDC, including the national chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, former chief of staff Julius Debrah, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Alex Mould, and other notable party officials. The primary objective of the dinner was to generate funds to support the party’s campaign and activities in the Upper West Region.

According to Issah Kantagyere, the regional communications officer for the NDC in the Upper West Region, the proceeds from this event will play a crucial role in mobilizing resources for an effective campaign in the upcoming 2024 elections.

To attend the fundraising dinner, participants were required to purchase coupons priced between GH₵5,000 and GH₵100,000. The event was anticipated to draw a significant number of party loyalists, business owners, and supporters, all coming together to bolster the NDC’s campaign efforts for a victorious outcome in the 2024 elections.

Mr. Kantagyere highlighted the importance of the funds raised during the dinner. “This event is a critical step towards ensuring that our party is well-equipped to win the 2024 elections. We are grateful for the support of our members and supporters who have contributed to this fundraising dinner. We believe that with their support, we will be able to achieve our goal of winning the elections,” he stated.

The NDC has been vigorously engaging in fundraising activities nationwide in preparation for the 2024 elections. The funds generated from these activities are earmarked for financing campaign efforts and supporting the party’s candidates in various constituencies.

The fundraising dinner in Wa is one of several planned events by the NDC in the Upper West Region as part of their strategic campaign initiatives leading up to the 2024 elections. The party is set to continue its campaign trail across the region in the coming weeks, further solidifying its presence and garnering support from the local populace.
