According to Speaker of the House Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, two northern brothers would probably run against one another in the 2024 presidential elections.
According to the Speaker, both of Ghana’s major parties will run candidates from the northern half of the country for the first time in the history of the Fourth Republic.

This prediction was made by the Speaker while paying Yagbonwura Bii-Kunutu Jewu Soale, the Overlord of Gonja, a visit at his Damongo home.
“My younger brother John Dramani Mahama has already been chosen by the NDC as its flagbearer, and if the NPP chooses Dr. Bawumia in November, we will have two northern brothers running for president, which I believe is something that we all hope for.
“It is now the time for development in the north and I urge you to prepare yourselves accordingly for the battle ahead.”
He appealed to the people to accept their political differences to influence development.
