In the ongoing by-election in the Kumawu constituency, Nurudeen Hamidan, an executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cautioned all party agents not to sign pink sheets till voting is complete.

After the NDC claimed to have found certain pink sheets being used for the polls had already been signed even though voting was still going on, Mr. Hamidan issued the warning to party agents.

The former CEO of Asokore Mampong, Mr. Hamidan, urged the Electoral Commission to make sure that no pink sheet that has already been signed be utilized in the election in an interview with Citi News’ Hafiz Tijani.

Officials of the Electoral Commission have since updated the pink document, and the NDC has changed some of its agents at various polling places.

He continued by saying that the NDC would do every effort to prevent a rigged election on Tuesday in favor of the incumbent New Patriotic Party.

A by-election is being held by the EC in the Kumawu constituency as a result of Philip Basoah’s passing in March of this year.

The NPP and the opposition NDC, the two major political parties, have all made numerous attempts to seize the parliamentary seat.

The EC, which is in charge of organizing the by-election, has guaranteed that all necessary supplies are available.

The parliamentary candidates are Ernest Yaw Anim of the NPP, Akwasi Amankwaa, a.k.a. “Tom Cee” of the NDC, and two additional independents running under the name Kwaku Duah.
