The Upper West Region of Ghana has hinted at a potential withdrawal from Media General’s renowned beauty pageant, Ghana Most Beautiful (GMB), following the alleged unfair treatment of their 2024 representative, Nancy Hatie Nwadei.

Residents and supporters from the Upper West Region have expressed deep dissatisfaction with Hatie’s eviction from the competition, which they believe lacked transparency. In response, Team Hatie—the management team representing Nancy Hatie Nwadei—petitioned Media General, calling for justice and fair treatment for their contestant.

After meeting with the General Manager of TV3, the team presented the following demands:

  1. Reinstatement of Hatie Nwadei into the GMB finals.
  2. Alternatively, reimbursement for the monetary value of the votes cast during the tie-breaking contest between Hatie and another contestant, Ewuraa.

The management team stressed that if at least one of these conditions is not met, the Upper West Region will withdraw from future participation in the Ghana Most Beautiful pageant.

“We came to a consensus that Hatie would’ve had a better chance if the system was transparent during the voting process, especially leading up to the deadline,” a member of Team Hatie stated.

The Upper West Region awaits a final decision from Media General, with another meeting scheduled for today’s at noon to receive the official response regarding their demands. If the issue is not resolved to their satisfaction, the region’s participation in future editions of GMB could be in jeopardy.
