National service personnels for the 2023/2024 service year have received two month allowance out of five months. The allawa received is for November and December.
According to Director of Corporate Affairs at the National Service Secretariat (NSS), Ambrose Entsiwah Junior, the delay in payment was as a results of challenges from the personnel E-Zwich cards and issues of impersonations. Personnel are made to go through evaluation processes before being enrolled in the NSS system.
Not withstanding the amount owed and amount paid, this is a timely intervention from the government as most personnels were starving and living on a thin line.
All national service personnel who have filled out, endorsed, and submitted their assessment forms for the months of November and December 2024, and have completed the biometric verification process at their respective NSS District Offices, can access their allowances via E-Zwich at their preferred banks nationwide from Friday, March 15, 2024
“Kindly get your e-zwich card and visit your banks or agents to load and withdraw your allowance,” it added. It advised personnel to withdraw from the same bank where they registered their e-zwich card to avoid extra bank charges
