Kwabena Kwabena, a well-known Highlife singer from Ghana, has spoken up about his regret of being married in his 20s and how it took valuable years from his life.
The ‘Aso’ hitmaker admitted in an interview with Zionfelix that he ought to have prioritized his budding career rather than getting married.

Kwabena Kwabena said, “The irony of the whole thing is, I played a role in stealing my whole life away from me at one point,” when asked about his prior choices. The reason I am saying that is because when I was 26 and 27 years old, I believed that at that time, I should have concentrated on my profession and not let anything outside of it interfere with it.
Kwabena Kwabena expressed satisfaction in recovering missing possibilities in his life despite the missed opportunities he thought he met during that time.
He knows the value of embracing opportunities and valuing every experience now that he is older and wiser.
“I feel like I was a young guy at that time,” he added, “but by God’s mercy, God has given me the chance again to have a second go at my life. I don’t want to make it seem as though I was a good guy and someone else was bad, so that’s why I’m not taking things for granted. At that time, other people were involved or were casualties.
Kwabena Kwabena, 44, acknowledged that during that time he ought to have put his career before of other responsibilities, especially his marriage. But rather than dwell in despair, he has found comfort in using trying situations, like heartbreak, as inspiration for his songs.
The vocalist of “Adult Music” went through a difficult marriage journey. After getting married to Esther and Abena Owusuaa, his first and second wives, the union eventually ended in divorce, tainted by claims of infidelity.
