To prevent their sim cards from being disconnected, Ghanaians were encouraged to connect their sim cards to their Ghana cards. Although this idea was initially opposed, the law has now been fully implemented.
However, once this registration was complete, it was impossible to determine how many sim cards were linked to their Ghana cards. After well-known journalist Kofi Adomah exposed a plot to use multiple sim cards connected to his Ghana card, this went viral on social media.

As a result, the National Communication Authority has revealed a shortcode that can be used to determine how many sim cards are linked to your Ghana card. On May 1st 2023, this shortcode will go into operation.
How to check the number of sim cards linked to your Ghana Card
- Dial *402*1# on all networks
- Check the phone numbers
- Delink unauthorized phone numbers
