Quincy Promes, a forward for Spartak Moscow, is being investigated for allegedly participating in narcotics trafficking.

Promes, 31, is charged with attempting to smuggle 1,362kg of cocaine into Belgium or the Netherlands, according to Dutch authorities.

According to the Dutch newspaper Het Parool, a hearing on the matter is scheduled for Monday.

The former international for the Netherlands was previously accused with attempted manslaughter and violence in 2021.

Promes was charged with critically wounding a relative’s knee in a stabbing attack at a family gathering in July 2020. Promes also played for Sevilla and Ajax and earned 50 caps for his country.

A hearing in this case is also planned for Monday. He has refuted these accusations.
