Bernard Mornah has secured a decisive victory in the flagbearer race for the People’s National Convention (PNC), positioning himself as the party’s candidate for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

The results were announced by Electoral Commission officials at the UDS Guest House in Accra on September 7, 2024. Bernard Mornah garnered 1,138 votes, decisively defeating his challenger, David Apasera, who managed to secure just 216 votes.

The flagbearer race was a key event at the PNC’s congress, where national executives were elected in preparation for the elections.

Speaking after his victory, Mr. Mornah called on his contender, David Apasera, who is also the incumbent chairman, to unite and collaborate to help the party win power in the upcoming elections.

“We must come together for the battle ahead and strive to bring the PNC to power,” Mornah stated, emphasizing the need for party unity and collective effort to achieve their political goals.

The PNC now looks forward to a robust campaign under Mornah’s leadership as they prepare for the 2024 elections.
