Atinga Nsobila Joel, the CEO of God’s Time Khebab, is no stranger to heat. This university graduate is currently grilling his way into the Guinness World Record books by attempting a 90-hour barbecue marathon!

Fueled by his passion for khebab and his desire to challenge perceptions, Atinga began his record-breaking attempt on Thursday, April 11th, at the Legon City Mall in Accra. His fiery ambition aims to produce a staggering 10,000 khebabs by the end of the 4-day marathon, which concludes on Sunday, April 14th.

The sizzling endeavor has captured the hearts (and stomachs) of Ghanaians. Atinga is sharing his delicious creations with supporters who flock to the mall to cheer him on. Videos of people happily queuing up for a free taste of Atinga’s khebab expertise have even gone viral!

This ambitious attempt is more than just about breaking a record. Atinga, who financed his education through the family khebab business, hopes to inspire others. He aspires to break the stereotype that khebab businesses are for the uneducated. “I want to encourage people to see this as a viable career path,” Atinga shared with Culture Joint in a pre-marathon interview.

Atinga joins a growing number of Ghanaians attempting Guinness World Records in recent months. While some previous attempts, like Afua Asantewaa’s longest singing marathon and Chef Faila’s longest cooking marathon, fell short, Atinga’s fiery spirit and delicious khebabs are a recipe for success!
