Lionel Messi had a brilliant performance despite playing just 34 minutes as he helped Argentina beat Jamaica 3-0 in their final friendly game before the World Cup. However here are the three records the Argentines broke in the match:
1. Messi is now the 3rd highest International Goalscorer of all time
The 35-year-old came on as a substitute after starting the game on the bench with cold-like symptoms. He scores a goal from outside of the penalty area after replacing Lautaro Martinez and scores a free kick minutes later to take his tally to 90 international goals behind Ali Dael and Cristiano Ronaldo.
2. He Has Scored Against 32 Opponents At International Level & Now Has 7 International Brace
Messi’s brace against Jamaica was his seventh at the international level as Jamaica also became the 32nd team he has scored against for Argentina.
