The highly anticipated Miss Dumba beauty pageant, originally scheduled for August, has been postponed until further notice due to the recent spate of serial killings in the Upper West Region. The pageant, known for celebrating the resilience, empowerment, and potential of young women, as well as showcasing beauty, culture, elegance, and knowledge, has taken a respectful pause in light of the current tragic events.

The organizers announced the postponement on their official Facebook page, offering heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.

“Our community has experienced a devastating tragedy, losing fathers, brothers, and grandfathers. We are deeply saddened and feel it’s inappropriate to proceed with the pageant at this time. Thank you for your understanding. Together, we will emerge stronger, more united, and compassionate. Miss Dumba 2024 Coming Soon, Inshallah.”

The Miss Dumba beauty pageant aims to promote the rich culture and customs of the Upper West Region. Last year’s event saw Kanbomma crowned as the winner among seven contestants, highlighting the community’s vibrant cultural heritage.

While the pageant’s postponement is a necessary and respectful decision, the organizers assure the community that Miss Dumba will return stronger and more impactful. The event will continue to celebrate the beauty and resilience of young women in the Upper West Region, promoting cultural pride and unity.
