The member of parliament for the Nadowli-kaleo constituency in the upper west region Hon. Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah in collaboration with the 3rd gentleman of the land RT Hon .Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin over the easter period organized a community football gala for constituents of the Nadowli-Kaleo.
The main aim of this gala was to foster unity and togetherness yet unearthing the football potentials in the constituency.
The communities was shared into 2 groups with group 1 containing Jang, Serekpere,Sombo, Charikpong and Takpo which was on standby.
The first match saw Jang humbling Serekpere by 3 goals to 1 whliles Sombo lost to Charikpong by 1 goal to nil.
In group 2 containing Nadowli, papu, Doung and Kaleo saw Doug winning on penalities over kaleo while Nadowli beat Papu by alone goal to nil.
The semi finals saw Jang beating Doung by 3 goals to 2 whlie Takpo won on penalities to Nadowli after a goaless drawn game.
In the clash of the titians, Jang went head to head with Takpo which indeed was a mouth watering encounter. With the passion, the flaire, the crounch takcles and the humor of communitism, it ended in stalemate after 90 mins of pure football fieasta. The two giants were seprated on the football lottery with Takpo winning the ultimate.
Like in every tournment, the third placed team was given bronze medals while the runner up being Jang was given a set of jersey, silver medals and fat envelop. The ultimate winners being Takpo was presented a giant trophy with gold medals, set of jerseys and a thick envelop.
The RFA rep. used the opportunity to thawt on some of the prominent sportmen the constituency have produced. He also elabrated on the potential the constituency got with the law maker Hon. Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah pledging of creating an enabling environment the unleashed these potentials.
