The Upper West Regional Football Association (UWRFA) extends its gratitude to Rt. Alban S. K. Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, for his significant contributions to the development of sports, particularly football, in the region. Rt. Bagbin’s vested interest in promoting sports has brought about notable improvements and opportunities for football enthusiasts in the area.

One of his notable contributions includes the renovation of the stands at the Wa Sports Stadium, a crucial facility for hosting football matches. The revitalization of this stadium has positively impacted football development in the region, as it provides a suitable venue for Division One Matches, saving the region from having to play home matches in other regions.

Additionally, Bagbin’s sponsorship of the Real Crusaders, a female football team, has been instrumental in encouraging women’s participation in football. Furthermore, he generously donated sporting materials, including football jerseys, to various football clubs in the region, helping to equip and support the local football talent.

The ongoing construction of an ultra-modern astroturf in Nadowli, Bagbin’s home district, is yet another remarkable initiative spearheaded by the Speaker. This astroturf, equipped with floor lights, will be a game-changer, allowing matches to be played day and night, promoting football development in the Nadowli catchment area.
